LELA BRUNET (b. 1985) is a visual artist living in Atlanta, Georgia. She received her BA in Art Education from Kennesaw State University in 2014. With her main subject being the female form, Lela explores the contrast created when the grace of the figure and the tension of energetic patterns and colors collide together. Lela’s work explores this visual battlefield of pattern, color, and form. She works in a variety of media including murals, painting, drawing, and design. She has exhibited her work and murals in multiple galleries and events throughout the United States and internationally. Her clients include Microsoft, MailChimp, NCR Corporation, Orpheus Brewing and Mellow Mushroom.
Amiri Farris is an interdisciplinary artist who uses various modes of representation to explore history, culture, perception, and time. Farris is know for often referencing personal narratives and experiences in his work and blurring the boundaries between traditional and contemporary art. With the goal of creating work that is accessible and engaging for audiences of all backgrounds, Farris moves fluidly between mediums such as painting, installation, video.
The mural featured on the exterior of Faherty’s store front is part of the Gullah, Geechee, Island Series. This series is anchored in the respect for Gullah-Geechee people carrying forward their centuries-old traditions in the arts and crafts, language and culture of today. The art of Amiri Farris honors the hallmarks of Gullah-Geechee culture and helps preserve the richness of this unique way of life. Amiri states, “The Gullah Geechee people have preserved much of their African cultural heritage. It is very important that we tell the history of this unique sea island culture.”
If you have ever been to a Johnny Was store, you know they are adorned in hand-painted details. Chris Lord, owner of Christopher Lord Designs, is the man behind the paint brush.
Based in Orange County, California, Chris Lord travels across the country to bring Johnny Was stores to life with his one-of-a-kind artwork. Lord pulls inspiration for each storefront from Johnny Was clothing, picking and choosing designs from different pieces to reflect onto the walls. Chris also ties in the location to his designs by adding in local and native flowers into the designs covering Johnny Was designs.
Chris’s latest work can be seen at Johnny Was at Shops Around Lenox, which was painted in collaboration with his sister.
Internationally recognized contemporary public artist and award-winning painter Alex Brewer, known as HENSE, has been creating colorful works of art combining techniques of street art and abstract painting for nearly two decades.
Brewer’s artworks incorporate line, shape, and gesture to creative abstract compositions that are invigorated by the quick pace and commentary of street culture. His works in the realm of public arts, grants, commissions, and cross-media connections have landed him local, national, and international public art projects and commissions. Brewer has received numerous notable commissions from the city of Atlanta, Peru and Arizona, and from local big names like Alton Brown and Fay Gold.
Think Greatly, LLC is an art + design projects incubator led by Lauren Pallotta Stumberg – an artist, muralist, designer, illustrator and creative consultant based out of Atlanta, GA.
Lauren received a 2016/2017 Emerging Artist Award from the City of Atlanta. She serves on the board of C4 Atlanta as an artist voice as well as the Arts Community Liaison. Additionally, Lauren leads beautification efforts and community arts programming opportunities as a board member at large for Fourth Ward Neighbors Association.
